During our Una Hakika community ambassador training sessions we hold a discussion entitled “Why Peace?” in which participants explain what the peace building process means to them. These are some their responses:
“For me peace is everything. Without it how can I achieve my goals? It is my first priority.” -Muhammed Komar
“When there is no peace the children are affected. They are going hungry because the adults are not able to go out and work the fields to provide for them.” -Elizabeth Kaiba
“Orma and Pokomo used to be integrated and socialize together. Those days are over. We need to educate both sides so we can start a peace dialogue.” -Martin Buya
“Peace brings us closer to God.” -Kerna Mugatana
“Peace is having no fear. Living with no threat – that is peace to me.” -Kode Warro Komora
