Reporting to the executive director, the fundraising generation specialist is a commission-based position with minimum wage guaranteed for hours worked that will support the Sentinel Project’s mission by identifying private donation opportunities. The Sentinel Project is looking for a self-driven, entrepreneurial individual who can support reaching organizational targets by finding potential private donors who want to contribute small, medium, and large gifts.
● Generating leads for private donations (small, medium, and large gifts)
– Maintaining relationships with existing donors to generate more donations and additional leads
– Cold calling and cold emailing prospective donors
– Maintaining and expanding the organization’s donor database
● Collaborating with the executive director and the research and engagement officer to determine necessary strategic donor approaches
● Any other related duties as assigned
● Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) or 2+ years of experience in the field
● Demonstrated ability and proven track record of finding and converting prospects into private donations
● Ability to maintain and build productive relationships with private donors
● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
● Intermediate proficiency with basic computer applications and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
– Comfort with using Google Apps, especially Google Drive / Docs, for online collaboration with a largely virtual team
– Ability to manage workflows using databases, spreadsheets, task management tools such as Trello, and other similar technologies
● Self-motivated, high level of energy and enthusiasm, ability to operate with minimal supervision
– Motivated to find solutions to challenges as they occur
– Excellent time management and organizational skills
– Accountable, dependable, and results focused
– Highly disciplined, high level of integrity, and excellent work ethic
– Exceptional negotiation skills and attention to detail
● Experience working with non-profit organizations
● Care about helping people in conflict-affected areas to defuse conflicts, prevent violence, and survive dangerous situations
