VOLUNTEER WITH US
The Sentinel Project is an exciting new approach to achieving a world without genocide, and we want you to be a part of it. All of our currently open positions are listed below. The time commitment for each role is approximately 10 hours per week. The overall team will have a sync-up meeting once per week but there are no other fixed time commitments. We manage our work by tracking to milestones and assessing progress made on each milestone each week during the sync-up. Between meetings, we coordinate via email and our private online network.

FUNDRAISER
The Sentinel Project is an on-going initiative and to be truly successful it needs some level of financial support to sustain a prolonged monitoring and assessment effort.
We are currently looking for people to implement our fundraising strategy along the following avenues:
1. Finding grant opportunities and submitting our proposals to them on behalf of the SP – particularly, researching and pursuing grants from CIDA
2. Finding sponsorship and funding opportunities within the corporate sector and pursuing them on behalf of the Sentinel Project
3. Pursuing fundraising opportunities with private citizens and citizen groups such as survivor and emigrant communities
You will be provided with full training on genocide prevention and will be given direction on how fundraising supports the SP. You will also be a part of the Sentinel Project core leadership and will have input in its overall direction.
The time commitment for this role is a minimum of 10 hours per week. The overall team will have sync-up meetings as necessary and there are no other fixed time commitments.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR
The Sentinel Project is an on-going initiative and to be truly successful it needs an effective and sustainable public relations program.
We are currently looking for an assistant program coordinator to help design and implement our public relations strategy along the following avenues:
1. Developing Sentinel Project messaging – information packets, website content, posters, etc
2. Establishing a network of contacts within the media – keeping contact with relevant journalists, magazines and other venues
3. Representing the Sentinel Project at appropriate outlets such as conferences and summits
4. Develop on-going creative campaigns to publicize the issues that the Sentinel Project works on and the organization itself via channels such as Twitter and Facebook
You will be part of a compact team with complete responsibility for developing and implementing a public relations strategy. You will also be a part of the Sentinel Project core leadership and will have input in its overall direction.

RESEARCH ANALYST
The Sentinel Project’s core mandate depends on an effective predictive model – the ability to efficiently identify the warning indicators for potential genocidal violence from a large amount of input data using a repeatable, but flexible, process.
We are currently looking for a dedicated volunteer to join our team as the Sentinel Project’s Research Analyst to help:
1. Develop and document a formalized analytical process to be used by the Sentinel Project in assessing situations-of-concern around the world
2. Work with the Sentinel Project’s tech team to develop the technical platform which will support the needs of the analysis process
You will be given a key role in developing the early warning model, and may have chances to publish research results should the opportunity arise. If interested, you will also eventually work with an associated team of volunteer analysts in implementing the predictive model as part of our monitoring process. You will also be a part of the Sentinel Project core leadership and will have input in its overall direction.

OUTREACH COORDINATOR
We are currently looking for a dedicated volunteer to join our team as the Sentinel Project’s Outreach Coordinator. Responsibilities include:
1. Actively reaching out to relevant organizations and exploring productive partnership opportunities
2. Maintaining relationships with existing partners, keeping track of new developments and communicating new Sentinel Project developments to them
3. Designing a high school and university outreach program
4. Recruiting for the Sentinel Project’s Board of Directors
You will be given complete responsibility for managing all outreach activities for the Sentinel Project. Eventually this will include managing a team of volunteers to implement all of our outreach initiatives. You will also be a part of the Sentinel Project core leadership and will have input in its overall direction.
